We loved the facilities - the pools and spa were lovely, well maintained and always clean. Very resort style. The hotel is connected to Wests which was so convenient for when we didn’t want to venture out for food. Lots of options and variety when it came to food which meant something for even the fussiest of our 6 adults and 4 kids group. The rooms were also nice. We had 2 x 1 bedroom queen and sofa rooms which was great as mum and dad got a comfy room and the kids loved nights on the comfy sofa in the living room. We also had a studio balcony room overlooking the pools with King bed. This was more modern than the queen/sofa rooms as they’ve been recently been renovated. Both styles of room were great in terms of layout and space depending on your needs. The location of the hotel is perfect. Close to lots of beaches, the city, Blackbutt reserve, Westfield Kotara etc … we were spoilt for choice anytime we wanted to explore Newcastle and venture away from the hotel.

The Executive Inn is a great family getaway. The room was great; however, the sofa bed could only fit a teenager, which wasn't too good for us as I had a teenager (5'10) and a 10-year-old, and no other bedding could be arranged, which wasn't ideal. We stayed in the double deluxe room. The balcony hadn't been cleaned, and there were smoke butts all over the floor; we received a note stating it was a smoke-free room..... this mess wasn't ours! Breakfast was nice; however, they offered the same buffet daily, so more variety would be good.

We did not have breakfast there. The bistro and restaurants were great for lunch and dinner. The location was perfect and the actual location of my room was great, too. The staff were all very lovely and helpful :) clean bathroom with great water temperature and water pressure in the shower. Mini bar was very reasonably priced. I would definitely stay there again but would love the rooms to be a bit brighter and airier. We really enjoyed our stay and the friendliness of the staff contributed to that :)

Their service is great, staff are amazing. They’ve got direct access to restaurants which was nice as we did not have to spend time on travelling to a restaurant for dinner and lunch. We walked to a cafe next morning for breakfast which was about 5 mins walk but only because we wanted to stroll outside. Otherwise they have b/f buffet option too for about 27$pp which is not that exp. Pool area is nice, looks amazing on the pictures. For anyone looking for a day or two to relax, this is a perfect place.

The room was recently renovated but, due to no full internal walls, there is no privacy between bathroom/toilet and the rest of the room. Shower and toilet have frosted glass walls. Dinner was excellent at the inhouse Empress Gardens Restaurant and Beijing Express [2 nights]. We self-catered for breakfast.
